Are you wanting to spend one night in the Cradle Valley before starting the Overland Track the following day?

Then this is the service for you. Our Launceston to Cradle Mountain 11:30am service is designed for both the person holidaying at Cradle Mountain with transport back to Launceston also available each day at 3:00pm and for the Overland Track walker wanting to spend one night at Cradle Mountain before starting the track the following day.

– Hotel pick-up from Launceston CBD and Launceston AirportWith morning pick-ups starting from 11:20am from launceston CBD and the Launceston airport at 12:00pm, Cradle Mountain Transport arrives at the Cradle Mt Visitor Centre at approx 2:30pm and dropping off to your accommodation shortly after that). With Airbnb accommodation we will of course do our best to pick you up at your accommodation but if there is not a safe pick-up zone for our bus and trailer, we will need to pick you up at the closest safe location. If you are unsure if your accommodation is within the CBD pick-up zone, please feel free to email us to confirm. 

– Lunch stop in Sheffield.  Our drive to Sheffield from Launceston takes approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes where we can visit a wonderful Cafe/Bakery for any lunch or the IGA supermarket for any last minute items you may need. Sheffield is a wonderful town and a must stop for anyone travelling to Cradle Mountain. Our Sheffield stop is for approx. 30 minutes.

– Arrival to Cradle Mountain at 2:30pm.  Our arrival to Cradle Mountain is at approx. 2:30pm which is perfect time for check-in to your Accommodation or for Checking in for the Overland Track (the following day passes are accessible at 3:00pm) so you can catch the first bus in the morning to Ronny Creek.

Our pick ups from Launceston central accommodation begin at 11:30am and then onto the Launceston airport for 12:00pm. With only one stop on the way in Sheffield (the town of murals) at the foothills of majestic Mount Roland, where there is a toilet stop, small supermarket for any last minute supplies and a café stop with the best coffee this side of Lygon St.

We then make our way to Cradle Mountain as we climb our way onto the plateau and arrive at the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre at approx. 2:30pm, ready for the scheduled 3:00pm check-in for Overland Track walkers and for Hotel check-in after 2:00pm. Here we can weigh your pack for you, offer you sunscreen before you head off, help with pack fittings to ensure your pack is sitting properly, do gear checks, demonstrations and provide our expert advice. This is also where you can fill up your water bottles, experience the last flushing toilet you will see for a few days.

Our Cradle Mountain Transport buses are fully stocked with both items for sale and hire including, fuel, maps, hand sanitizer, WonderWool blister prevention, ear plugs (for the noisy huts) and many other items.  All items are also available for pre-booking from our shop here and we will have these available for your collection when we pick you up from your accommodation. *remember you are not able to fly with fuel canisters or liquid so pre-booking these with us is the easiest option.

As we also run regular services from Cradle Mountain back to Launceston with accommodation pick-ups starting at 2:45pm.

Do you have a group booking of 7 or more? Simply select the number of passengers in and your group discount will be applied for parties of 7 or more. Discounts apply for groups with one booking, one payment being made for the group and one pick-up location in Launceston.

This service operates from the 30th September to the 31st May excluding Sundays and Public Holidays.
